Lovely seaside small town. Walkable and bikeable streets.
Lovely seaside small town. Walkable and bikeable streets. A few beaches nearby. Amazing restaurant strip on the seashore. Family friendly activities during the day. Day trips by boat to see dolphins. Friendly locals. A few older churches and bell tower, all free to visit. Not bustling, more of a relaxed vibe. Gorgeous views of the sea. A great day trip, or to stay for 2-3 nights. Bring a car but be prepared to pay for hourly parking by the sea as street parking is difficult (1.5 euro/hr, 31 euro 24 hrs).

During September there are lots of clothing shops with "on sale" signs for lovely Italian ladies clothing. Lots of tennis facilities, modern supermarkets, restaurants, souvenir shops and great beaches!

Unfortunately we had terrible weather so our experience is not indicative of the norm. Umag appears to be the ideal place for families and tennis players. Lots of recreational activities (snorkeling, playing courts, rental for jet skis, ATVs etc.). There are walking & cycling paths along the built-up parts of the coastline from Katoro to Umag, but these are very crowded. There is a lot of bustle (and traffic) in the area even though there is a "mini train" to get around the various resorts. This is the place to go with other people to do stuff outdoors, and not to seek peace and quiet.

It's a good place for couples, but I'm glad I didn't bring my kids. Most beaches are super rocky and are not developed for families. Could use more varied cuisine, but pretty area and close to many wonderful wineries and olive oil makers. Locals are friendly. One resort seems to own the whole town and is obnoxiously big and intrusive

Umag is a very nice and small place, so you can go anywhere by walk. Prices in restaurants are totally fair. I’m suggesting you to visit Sea Star Festival, one of the biggest in that part of Croatia. Prices in stores are way too high.

It is a combination of modern and ancient times.
It is a combination of modern and ancient times. You can really find all what you like. As the overall temperature gets higher this place is more likely be still warm even in September or October. I did swim in October and the sea as it is rather shallow was still surprisingly warm and enjoyable.
The hotel location is really good.
Private beach with a sandy area for kids, long promenade along the sea lasting up to the Umag city so you can have a walks every day. If you'll be lucky enough to get the sea-side room on the 4th floor - you'll have a stunning sea view.
Every day there is a small music program at the small stage between the canteen and the pool: sometimes artists are really good and we had a couple of evenings when we really enjoyed live music and signing.
SPA - I was lucky to have a good massage.
AMAZING
Don’t hesitate booking at Arte Casa, Katja and friend of the Arte Casa are wonderful!! They make you feel at home completely. We miss Arte Casa already. Big big heart to this hotel.
Assets: very clean room, free parking, calm area and close to the center, wonderful breakfast, nice garden outside for breakfast and relaxing.
We can’t wait to come again.
Very comfortable house, various activities for kids available in the camp, nice pool and bar, parking is free and available. Perfect nature surroundings, beach just few minutes by walk away. Old city Umag is some 20-30 minutes by foot away and there is a touristic train available as well if you not feel like walking
The whole house is fantastic. There are separate apartments which are fantastic- the furniture is absolutely new with all the needed equipmemt. The bed and pillows are comfortable. It is swiming pool and BBQ for the summer.
An extraordinary hotel with wellness center and swimming pools, good restaurants and bars, located on the shore, on a green plot of land, a few kilometers from the beautiful Umag old town
Everything in the hotel was new and clean. Beach is great for families with small children - sand and low level of water. Location is also great, quiet place with the city nearby.
While on a 2 month Holiday and numerous different accommodation bookings this was by far the nicest and best located property and the hosts are exceptional!
We liked the location in the woods, plenty of shaddow, nice terrace, nice beach, dog friendly. A lot of walking paths. A solid place to stay in low season.
